March 26: Wash. Co. Health Dept. Order

March 26, 2020

Good Afternoon,

Last night, the Washtenaw County Health Department issued a Public Health Emergency Order. This order applies to any and all individuals who continue to work during the governor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe order, even those, like us, providing critical services.

This order is effective at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

Based upon the order, by reporting to work or entering a WCRC facility, you agree that:

  1. You do not have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat or diarrhea.
  2. You have not been in close contact in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
  3. You have not traveled via airplane internationally or domestically in the last 14 days.

If you cannot say “yes” to all of these statements…do not enter the building or report to work (your assigned vehicle or workspace).

Please return to your personal vehicle and call your supervisor. You will be immediately sent home pursuant to the order. If you are sent home, there are paid and unpaid options for you, contact HR for more information.

Signs are being placed at each building entrance reminding everyone of this order.

I am asking all of you to take personal responsibility and use common sense. If you are feeling any of the symptoms listed above, have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or have traveled via airplane recently, please do not come to work. We have the same expectations for any contractor on our job site or vendor coming to a WCRC facility.

Thank you for your continued work throughout this difficult situation.

Please have a safe weekend,

Sheryl

P.S. You should also receive a driver authorization letter with your name on it from your supervisor this afternoon. This is meant to be kept in your personal vehicle in case you are stopped during your commute to/from work.
