Good Afternoon,

Between the warmer temps and rain today, spring is in the air.

With spring comes road construction. We are already underway with our bridge replacement on Dennison Road and lots of prep work for other projects occurred this past week. As always, when we are changing seasons, please be extra vigilant as you work along the roads. Motorists are not accustomed to seeing orange barrels and we need to retrain them to drive carefully through our work zones.

On the COVID front, it has been a mixed week. Thousands of people are getting vaccinated every day across the state which is amazing news. Unfortunately, COVID case numbers and hospitalization rates are also trending up again which is a reminder that the virus is still among us.

Once again, I highly encourage you to seek every opportunity to get a vaccine. Putting your name on our list is one option. We remain in contact with the Washtenaw County Health Department, but no appointments were available for our employees this week. Another option is the mass vaccination site at Ford Field which opened this week. You can pre-register to be contacted for an appointment at Ford Field here: https://clinic.meijer.com/register/CL2021. There are many other vaccination locations available and eligibility is expanding to everyone over the age of 16 on April 5. If you are able to get vaccinated at another location, we encourage you to do so. But please notify Nicole if you are vaccinated so she can update our list.

I know we are all tired of COVID but it is still a threat that needs to be taken seriously. Please continue to wear your mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently and get the vaccine when it becomes available to you.

Have a great weekend,

Sheryl
