Good morning,
Wow, this week has really felt like spring. It is so nice to have longer days and warmer temperatures. While the official start of spring is on Sunday, I know there are probably a few more winter events in our future but let’s not think about that now 😊
This week, we also saw the Michigan Senate pass the 6-month Fuel Tax Suspension that I talked about last week. The bill now heads to Governor Whitmer’s desk. All reports say that she plans to veto it. We will continue to monitor the situation and share with you what we know.
While this bill is likely to die, I know it is frustrating to once again be political pawns in an election year. I’m sure we will see more shenanigans as we work through the election “silly season”. Just know that I am so proud of everything we accomplish each year. Our work and dedication to service continue regardless of who is in office and I know the community does appreciate our efforts.
On a positive note, I’m pleased to share that we are bringing Spring Luncheon back! Please mark Thursday, June 2 on your calendars. This year, we will meet at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds on Ann Arbor-Saline Rd for lunch and a few activities. More to come!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Take care and stay safe,
Sheryl
