Good Afternoon,
As promised, I met with the senior management team this morning and we have agreed to make the following changes so that we can continue to provide critical services to our community while ensuring the safest environment possible for all of our employees.
Facilities
- The lobby remains closed to the public until further notice. Critical, vendor-only deliveries will still be accepted and have been instructed to deliver to the shop/stockroom.
- All employees are asked to wipe-down shared equipment before and after each use. Towels and disinfectant sprays have been provided. If they run out or are missing, please contact Hugo or your supervisor so that we can replenish the supply.
- WCRC facilities staff will continue extra cleaning and sanitizing as resources allow and employees are encouraged to assist in their work areas.
- To minimize contact, only supervisors will be allowed to pick-up supplies from the shop/stockroom at the main yard. If you need something, contact your supervisor.
Working Together/Meetings
- In an effort to limit the number of times we are congregating each week and to provide some flexibility to those with family obligations, WCRC will switch to our 4-10’s schedule starting Thursday, March 19.
- Regular business hours will be 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Thursday. This schedule will be in place through September 9.
- Non-union employees and/or employees working remotely, who are interested in an alternate work schedule should discuss with their supervisor.
- If you can work remotely, you are directed to do so as soon as possible. Some employees working remotely may be asked to come into the office to complete specific tasks for limited times. Talk with your supervisor for more information. WCRC IT sent additional instructions to office staff earlier today regarding working remotely.
- Employees have been instructed to have no more than two people in a county vehicle at one time. If feasible for the work assignment, one person per vehicle is preferred.
- All in-person meetings between 3 or more people should be conducted electronically through Microsoft Teams, some other form of technology or postponed.
- Employees are asked to avoid groups of 3 or more in shared spaces like break rooms or meeting spaces. Everyone is encouraged to practice “social distancing”, remaining approximately 6 feet away from others.
Next Steps
We continue to monitor the situation and will make additional changes as needed. I will continue to contact you via email throughout this situation and we will keep this webpage updated within Employee Central: www.wcroads.org/employee-coronavirus-covid-19-updates/
Thank you for all that you do,
Sheryl
