WHERE: Whittaker Rd between Willow Rd and Merritt Rd in Augusta and Ypsilanti Townships

WHY: Preventative maintenance – chip seal

BACKGROUND: Starting on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a preventative maintenance chip seal project on Whittaker Rd between Willow Rd and Merritt Rd in Augusta and Ypsilanti Townships.

WCRC will also continue its chip seal project on Willow Rd between Platt Rd and Rawsonville Rd which started today, May 17.

The work on Whittaker Rd and Willow Rd is expected to be completed by Thursday, May 20. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Once the work is completed, drivers are advised to lower their speeds to 35 mph while the stone settles.

WCRC will return to this area in a few weeks to apply a fog seal on top of the chip seal and place permanent pavement markings.
