By July 14, 2020Road Advisories

WHEN: Wednesday, July 15, 2020

WHERE: McGregor Road between Dexter-Pinckney Road and the county line AND Hankerd Road between N. Territorial Road and the county line AND Fox Ridge Subdivision, north of N. Territorial Road in Dexter Township

WHY: Preventative maintenance – chip seal

BACKGROUND: On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a preventative maintenance chip seal project on the following roads in Dexter Township:

  • McGregor Road between Dexter-Pinckney Road and the county line
  • Hankerd Road between N. Territorial Road and the county line
  • Fox Ridge Subdivision, north of N. Territorial Road

These roads will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route. The road improvements are expected to take approximately two days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Once the road is back open, drivers are advised to lower their speeds to 35 mph while the stone settles. WCRC will return to this area in a few weeks to apply a fog seal on top of the chip seal and place permanent pavement markings.
