WHERE: Old US-12 between Kernwood/Fieldstone Drive and M-52 in Sylvan Township and the City of Chelsea
WHY: Road resurfacing
BACKGROUND: On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a road resurfacing project on Old US-12 between Kernwood/Fieldstone Drive and M-52 in Sylvan Township and the City of Chelsea.
Old US-12 will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. There will be intermittent sidewalk closures during this project as well.
The Old US-12 improvements are expected to take approximately 10 days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
The City of Chelsea is also conducting work on Wilkinson Street and Lane Street. Traffic congestion is expected in this area during construction of these three projects.
