June 29: Independence Day & ROW Nominations

Good morning,

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost July! As we all get ready for our 4th of July festivities, I would like to caution you about the amount of increased travel this coming weekend. Triple A predicts a large increase in travel during this holiday, especially on June 30 and July 5. I encourage you to check out their article so you are able to anticipate the worst and best travel times. Additionally, remember to check out MDOT’s Mi Drive web page to forecast construction and congested traffic areas.

If you aren’t traveling this weekend, I would highly recommend checking out the Whitmore Lake fireworks show on Sunday, July 2, as well as the parade they host on July 4! This is a wonderful community event that is going on its 63rd year of celebration. If you are looking for more local events to attend during the holiday, check out this MLive article that outlines some of the biggest events in Washtenaw County for Independence Day!

On another note, I would like to remind everyone that tomorrow is the last day to submit ROW nominations for Q2 of 2023. I highly suggest submitting a nomination, as this award is meant to show appreciation for our fellow co-workers and showcase their hard work!

I hope you all enjoy this holiday weekend whether you travel far or stay close to home.

Take care & stay safe,

Sheryl
