June 22: Last COVID Update (Hopefully)

Good afternoon,

I finally have some good news to share without any strings attached. As of today, ALL workplace COVID rules have been lifted. Governor Whitmer announced in a press conference at noon today that all the MIOSHA COVID rules expire immediately for employers like us.

So, what does this mean for you?

  1. Masks are now completely optional. If you want to wear one, you absolutely can but they are no longer required, regardless of vaccination status.
  2. Employees and visitors no longer need to answer the daily screening questions.
  3. Starting June 23 (tomorrow), all employees will be expected to enter their own time in kiosk, including punching in and out for all TPOAM members.
  4. In-person meetings are welcomed but you may also continue with virtual meetings depending upon the subject and participants. Emily will send out some additional guidance tomorrow reminding all of us how to reserve conference rooms through Outlook.

Our lobby reopening date will remain Monday, July 12, 2021. Our board will continue to meet 100% virtually for at least the next few meetings, we are working on a hybrid model that will allow both in-person and virtual participation.

This will hopefully be my last COVID-related email (fingers crossed!). I plan to continue sending out the “Weekly News Round Up” email covering various topics impacting our organization at the end of each week. If you have ideas for topics you would like to learn more about, please let me know.

Thank you for everything you do for this organization every day. But a special thank you for keeping yourselves and your co-workers safe during this unprecedented time.

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
