July 13: ETT & MERS 2023 Conference Delegates

Good afternoon,

And just like that, July is almost halfway over! This week, our maintenance crews were busy with limestone/gravel resurfacing projects throughout the county and also started fog sealing on our chip seal projects. After the mix of strange weather we have had this week, your work is greatly appreciated.

Our Employee Think Tank (ETT) is currently looking for new members to fill vacant seats. I encourage all of you to consider joining the committee. This group has contributed numerous ideas to our organization, which have benefited our staff members and surrounding communities. Some of these ideas include the job shadowing program that was recently rolled out, the Employee Workplace Improvement Suggestions box, and the employee engagement survey that was just completed. ETT has also coordinated service projects such as the back-to-school supply drive for children in need as well as the various employee outings that have taken place. If you are interested in participating in this committee or have questions, reach out to Alicia Held, HR coordinator, by August 7. And remember to sign up for the August 12 Mud Hens game which is an ETT sponsored event!

On another note, yesterday our organization voted on who would represent us at the 2023 MERS Retirement conference! Congratulations Mike Livsey on your election as the Employee Delegate and Emma Sharpe as the Alternate Delegate. This conference is a great opportunity to provide our organization with insights on MERS plan information, investment education, plan funding best practices and opportunities to network with your peers. I am excited to hear what our employees learn during the conference!

It looks like we have chances of rain and sunshine forecasted for this weekend. I hope you all get to enjoy it.

Take care & stay safe,

Sheryl
