Good morning,
I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and weekend! Now we are back to business.
This week, our crews continued to perform unpaved road maintenance, as well as a handful of drainage and forestry projects, throughout the county. Due to inclement weather, the remainder of our chip seal applications have been delayed until next week.
Construction for the Border-to-Border pathway in Scio Township continues, as the contractor is working to complete the bridge approaches, boardwalks, and prepare for more paving. The contractor for the Whittaker Rd at Willis Rd roundabout in Augusta Township is working to build the road base. The traffic signal installation taking place at N. Territorial Rd and Webster Church Rd in Webster Township is on-going. However, we do expect the signal to be operational by July 22. And tomorrow, milling is scheduled to begin for the Miller Rd resurfacing project in Scio Township.
During the board meeting last week, it was decided that our virtual CHAT sessions, on Wednesdays at noon, would now be 30 minutes. These sessions provide our residents with an opportunity to have an open discussion with our commissioners, senior leadership team, and administrative staff members, regarding their concerns. Additionally, an agreement was approved for Ann Arbor Township.
Lastly, I would like to announce the winners of the Recognize-Our-Workforce (ROW) Award for the second quarter of 2024. This employee appreciation program was implemented to showcase the exceptional work of our dedicated staff members. Each quarter, two winners are selected from the nominations that are received. Both Harold Rothman, Heavy Truck Driver (D5), and Michele Ford, Senior Project Manager – Traffic & Safety, were nominated for their continued efforts to go above and beyond for their departments and fellow co-workers. We are lucky to have such committed and hard-working individuals as a part of our organization! The next drawing will be October 1, 2024.
Have a great Thursday,
Matt
