January 29 – Road Funding 101

Good Morning,

Well, we’ve already made it to the end of January – time is really flying!

Michigan’s COVID case numbers continue to trend down. We passed an amazing milestone this week, more Michiganders have now been at least partially vaccinated than have been diagnosed with COVID. That’s significant progress!!

While we continue to pay close attention to the latest COVID-related news and how it impacts our workplace, we have also been working hard to continue to build relationships with our local elected officials.

This week, we held two Road Funding 101 sessions for new and reelected officials. These virtual sessions included an overview of WCRC, road jurisdictions, funding sources and funding distribution. The sessions were well attended. I know many of you have already established great working relationships with officials across the county. We hope this presentation helped further educate officials so we can build even greater partnerships and hopefully a robust local road program for this summer.

Lastly, it looks like there is more snow heading our way this weekend. Thank you in advance for keeping the roads clear and supporting the crews in their work.

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
