January 28 – Are your MERS Beneficiaries Up to Date?

Good morning,

It has been another busy week here. Thank you to everyone involved with our winter response last weekend and this week! Looks like we have a few more arctic days ahead and then things start to warm up a bit – if you consider 40 degrees warm that is.

This was a particularly busy time for three of our employees – Congratulations to Paul Robinson on his retirement (and birthday). That soon-to-be-retired smile is nice to see. Congratulations also to Jared Powers and Jeff Grau on the new additions to their families (check out the pictures in the full update)!

All these life changes are good reminders to update your beneficiaries in MERS. MERS recommends periodically checking your account to make sure everything is correct. Click here to learn more about MERS beneficiaries. When you are in the middle of major life events it is easy to forget to make sure these changes are reflected in your beneficiaries. There’s no time like the present to make sure everything is how you want it.

Please contact HR or MERS if you have any trouble logging into your MyMERS account. If you haven’t logged in since April of 2021 don’t be surprised when it prompts you to create a new account. All your information is still there, you just need to go through a new setup process.

I hope you have a great weekend with some time for rest and relaxation.

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
