Good morning,
It’s hard to believe that we are more than halfway through January, especially with no snow! However, the recent unseasonable conditions have kept our operations crews on their toes with pothole filling and gravel road maintenance. Thank you for all your hard work and continuing to keep our roads safe!
This week our board approved a few equipment purchases during their board meeting. These purchases include five trucks for the Engineering department and two graders for the Operations department. Like many organizations, we have struggled with long delivery times for new equipment. So, an important role of our organization is maintaining our assets while simultaneously balancing new purchases to make the most out of our resources. Shout out to our shop crew for keeping our current equipment in good working condition until purchases like this are possible! Of course, for once our new pickups were delivered in record time so we also appreciate the shop getting them prepped so we can put them into service.
As our weekend approaches, there is a chance for snow in the forecast. Thank you in advance if we need to perform winter maintenance. Looks like it could be good practice for the snow predicted next week.
