January 14: Week of Extremes

Good afternoon,

Once again, we had a week of extremes with weather and other events.

With the short period of warmer weather, we were able to complete quite a bit of work from culvert replacement to stone and pothole patching in preparation for the next deep freeze. In addition, we continue to get projects ready for the spring construction season. As we all know, even when it’s not snowing, we have plenty to do.

Earlier today I shared that the Supreme Court blocked the federal rule requiring employers with 100 or more employees to have a policy in place regarding mandatory COVID vaccines and testing. Click here to read the message if you have not already seen it.

Finally, we are headed into a long weekend in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. who promoted the ideas of service, community and empowerment. I know that many of you are actively involved in your communities. Thank you for your efforts and I encourage all of you to explore ways to serve the communities where we work and live. Of course, please take time to relax and enjoy some well-earned time off as well.

Take care, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend,

Sheryl
