January 14: COVID-19 Update – Supreme Court Blocks OSHA Vaccine Mandate

Good morning,

Yesterday the US Supreme Court blocked the federal OSHA COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Emergency Temporary Standard requiring employers with 100 or more employees to have a policy in place regarding mandatory COVID vaccines and testing.

As we have previously stated, without a federal or state vaccine/testing mandate, we do not plan to implement a vaccine mandate of our own. We strongly encourage you to get vaccinated but this decision is strictly voluntary and a personal choice.

As a result of the Supreme Court ruling, we will no longer be requiring you to submit proof of vaccination information to Nicole. We are happy to accept this information if you choose to submit it but again this is now voluntary. All proof of vaccination information will be treated as a confidential medical record.

The ruling does not affect our current COVID safety protocols which include social distancing and continuing to wear a mask when indoors or riding together in a vehicle. These protocols will remain in place until further notice.

Since this Supreme Court ruling is recent, we may receive additional information from MIOSHA or MCRCSIP, our insurance pool. I will provide another update if we receive anything new.

As always, please reach out to Nicole or me if you have any questions.

Thank you and take care,

Sheryl
