January 13: Winter Maintenance & MLK Day

Good morning,

This past week’s warm weather has made for an easy 2023 winter maintenance season so far. I’m thankful to have seen the sun for a few minutes this week and I hope all of you were able to enjoy the sunshine as well! But don’t hold your breath for too long, as the temperatures drop this weekend and the potential for snow rises, we may have some plowing to do. I can assure that winter is not over yet!

As we head into this long weekend, I would like to take the time to reflect on Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy of service. This holiday is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service, which hopes to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. Whether you go the extra mile to organize events throughout your community, participate in outreach programs, or simply show a random act of kindness to a neighbor, it all counts! I challenge each of you to find ways you can participate in this national holiday over the weekend, as it will benefit not only your community, but you as well!

Take care and stay safe

Sheryl
