January 11: COVID Safety Protocols Extended Until Further Notice

Good morning,

In December we reimplemented many of our COVID safety protocols (Current Phase Chart Winter 2022) to minimize the spread of COVID-19 amongst our employees. We hoped to rescind these protocols in mid-January but, unfortunately, positive case numbers continue to rise throughout the state so we are extending our current COVID work rules until further notice.

Thank you to everyone for following these COVID safety protocols. While we have had employees test positive, our case numbers have not increased at the same rate as other places so I believe that we are working hard to minimize outbreaks here and keep each other safe.

We are disappointed to be extending these protocols, but we also know that they are temporary. We continue to monitor positive case counts and information coming from county health, MIOSHA and the CDC so that we have the appropriate level of safety measures in place to protect our workforce. We all look forward to the time when we can rescind these COVID protocols and return to a more normal way of doing business.

In the end, we want everyone to remain as safe as possible at work, minimize the spread of COVID among our employees and families, and also continue to provide vital winter maintenance services for the motoring public in Washtenaw County.

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
