WHERE: 8 Mile Rd between Pontiac Trail and Currie Rd in Salem Township
WHY: Preventative maintenance – chip seal
BACKGROUND: On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a preventative maintenance chip seal project on 8 Mile Rd between Pontiac Trail and Currie Rd in Salem Township.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to intermittent lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
The chip seal work is expected to take a week, and the remaining maintenance work will be completed in the coming weeks. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
