Happy New Year!

2019 is a very special year for the Washtenaw County Road Commission – it marks our 100th anniversary. Way back in 1919, a group of concerned citizens voted to form the county road system in Washtenaw County, establishing the Washtenaw County Road Commission. For the past century, we have been serving the traveling public of Washtenaw County by building roads and maintaining them through winters, summers, droughts, floods, blizzards and much more.

Throughout this year, we will be sharing photos, stories, retiree spotlights and much more to help commemorate this special occasion. The celebration will cumulate in November with the kick-off of a WCRC exhibit at the Washtenaw County Historical Society that will run through April 2020.

The road (pun intended) has not always been an easy one but we have persevered with the support of the elected officials and people of Washtenaw County.

Join us throughout the year as we remember the good, the bad, the strange and memorable.
