Our contractor is working to finish the bridge’s underground work this week on the Saline-Milan Road Bridge project in York Township. This includes building the concrete block retaining wall on the westerly side of the road and finishing the soldier pile wall along the easterly side of the road. Our contractors are also working on pouring the wingwall footings on the northerly section of the bridge.
Once all this underground work has been completed, the precast wingwalls will be placed and then road construction can begin. We are hoping to pave the road and reopen the bridge by the end of October, as long as the weather continues to cooperate.
