February 27: Updated COVID Safety Protocols

Good afternoon,

As promised, we have continued to watch the COVID case numbers and I’m very pleased to share that Washtenaw County is now, according to the CDC, at a “medium” Covid-19 Community Level.

Due to this improvement, starting tomorrow, February 28, 2022, nearly all workplace COVID protocols will end.

So, what does this mean for you?

  • Masks are now completely optional. If you want to wear one, you absolutely can but they are no longer required, regardless of vaccination status. Masks will no longer be required for visitors to enter the lobby, but the plexiglass guards will remain in place at the staff desks facing the lobby.
  • In-person meetings are welcomed but you may also continue with virtual meetings depending upon the subject and participants. Since we continue to experience a wide range of opinions on masks and comfort level for meeting in-person, please take this into consideration if you are the meeting organizer.
  • Vehicle sharing is allowed, mask wearing is optional for occupants.
  • All employees can access the shop as needed.

Only quarantine rules remain, as these are OSHA and/or county health requirements. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, test positive for COVID-19 or have had “close contact” with a COVID-19 positive person, do not report to work. Contact your supervisor and me, (734) 255-0818, immediately for further instruction.

Thanks for all your efforts and please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Nicole
