February 17: Unpaved Rd Maintenance & Job Shadow Program

Good morning,

Well, it was a beautiful week until last night! With almost 50-degree weather and constant sunshine, you would think spring is here. Mother Nature, however, is reminding us that the calendar still says winter – at least for today.

This back-and-forth weather means our operations crews were kept extremely busy this week maintaining our unpaved roads. Spring is a delicate time for gravel roads, and as a result, a challenging task for our operations department to tackle. Whether you are running a grader, patching potholes, legally enforcing our springtime weight restrictions or easing a stressed-out resident, thank you to every employee who has supported our spring-time road maintenance. Your participation is crucial to our delicate road system!

Last week our Human Resources department announced the launch of a job shadowing program that was suggested through employee feedback. This program gives our employees the opportunity to expand their professional knowledge, gain new perspectives and promote positive communication across departments. Please take advantage of this opportunity, as I believe this experience would be beneficial to any WCRC employee, regardless of experience or knowledge! You can reach out to your supervisor for details regarding the application.

This weekend’s forecast is looking warm, and I hope it continues to stay that way!

Take care & stay safe,

Sheryl
