February 10: Board Meeting, CEW & Total Compensation Statements

Good morning,

Well, after another week of unusually warm weather, our operations crews kept busy maintaining our unpaved roads. On Wednesday, February 8, our engineering and operations departments worked together to put Seasonal Weight Restrictions into effect. Based on field observations and the recent fluctuating temperatures, these restrictions are vital to the health of our fragile road system.

During our board meeting on Tuesday, February 7, Josh Jacobs was authorized as a weighmaster of WCRC. This position is crucial to help WCRC patrol our roads during the seasonal weight restrictions. Congratulations Josh, as your hard work and dedication toward learning this role, has paid off! WCRC looks forward to having you serve in this role.

Earlier this week, a large portion of our engineering department, myself included, attended the County Engineers’ Workshop. This annual event allows engineers across the state to learn about new technology, best practices and upcoming regulations; share ideas and experiences with like-minded peers; and obtain our continuing education credits to maintain our professional engineer licenses. Matt MacDonell and I presented on our county road millage as a successful model for local road funding, and Aaron Berkholz won an award for asking the most questions of presenters.

Finally, I would like to let you all know that the 2022 Total Compensation Statements have been mailed out. These statements outline your complete pay package, including the amount you take home, the amount you receive from benefits/incentives and the amount WCRC contributes towards your personal benefits. The purpose of these statements is to show our employees the total value of their compensation package and outline WCRC contributions. If you have any questions about your statement, contact Nicole or Alicia.

It looks like a warm weekend is in the forecast. I hope you get out and enjoy it. Don’t forget, it’s Superbowl Sunday! Get everything ready for the game, commercials, and the Rihanna Halftime show.

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
