Good afternoon,

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Thank you to everyone who had to work over the holiday weekend. I know the big game made things more difficult on Saturday, but your efforts were very much appreciated and hopefully the Wolverine victory made up for it (Go Blue!)!

Earlier this week, the Washtenaw County Board of County Commissioners (BOC) passed a vaccination policy mandating all county employees be fully vaccinated by February 1, 2022. The county’s new policy does not apply to employees of the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

As I have shared before, OSHA’s COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Emergency Temporary Standard, announced November 5, is likely to apply to WCRC employees but it is currently being challenged in court. Again, this standard requires an employer to adopt a vaccination policy and the policy may be strict or include a testing option. We are waiting to see the results of the court challenge, as well as guidance from MIOSHA and our insurance pool, before taking any further steps on this topic. I will provide additional information as it becomes available.

I hope you have a nice weekend and, if you are a Michigan fan, I hope we have a lot to celebrate tomorrow!

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
