By September 10, 2020Road Advisories

WHEN: Starting Thursday, September 10, 2020

WHERE: Superior Road between Huron River Drive and Geddes Road AND Mott Road between Ridge Road and the county line on the borders of Ypsilanti and Superior Townships

WHY: Preventative maintenance – fog seal

BACKGROUND: Starting in the afternoon of Thursday, September 10, 2020, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will apply a fog seal on Superior Road between Huron River Drive and Geddes Road AND Mott Road between Ridge Road and the county line on the border of Ypsilanti and Superior Townships

Fog seal is another thin layer of liquid asphalt placed on top of a recent chip seal that helps to seal in the chips and further protect the pavement.

The roads will be temporarily closed to allow the fog seal to cure. Curing time depends on several factors including weather. This work is expected to be completed by Monday, September 14. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Once the fog seal has been completed, WCRC’s contractor will return to place permanent pavement markings in the coming weeks.
