– 7 Mile Rd between Pontiac Tr and Angle Rd in Salem Township
– Angle Rd between 6 Mile Rd and 7 Mile Rd in Salem Township
WHY: Preventative maintenance – chip seal
BACKGROUND: Starting on Thursday, June 10, 2021, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin preventative maintenance chip seal projects on Pontiac Tr between N Territorial Rd and 8 Mile Rd in Salem Township, 7 Mile Rd between Pontiac Tr and Angle Rd in Salem Township, and Angle Rd between 6 Mile Rd and 7 Mile Rd in Salem Township. The roads will reopen at the end of each day and remain open until work resumes the following morning.
The work on these roads is expected to be completed by the end of the week. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
Once the work is completed, drivers are advised to lower their speeds to 35 mph while the stone settles.
WCRC will return to this area in a few weeks to apply a fog seal on top of the chip seal and place permanent pavement markings.
