I’m thrilled to share fantastic news with you! The four-year County-wide Roads and Non-motorized Millage (Proposal A) has been approved by voters with an impressive 69% support. This millage is a significant win, as it ensures approximately $20 million of infrastructure investment into WCRC roadways.
Additionally, below are a list of items addressed during our recent board meeting:
- Ann Arbor Township Agreement: We approved the second agreement for Ann Arbor Township.
- Light Trucks: Authorized to purchase 3 new light trucks for the operations department
- Budget Amendments: The board approved the 2024 second quarter budget amendments.
- Contract & Policy Update: 100 hours maximum compensatory time use annually for both union and non-union eligible employees.
- Geddes Rd Pathway Project: The board agreed to the right of way acquisition of land for this project.
We’re excited to announce the 2024 Logo Gear Sale with an increased employee credit to $75! Safety shirts are now included in this sale as WCRC will no longer have a spring shirt sale. The online store will be open for three weeks in September, with exact dates to be announced soon. We’re moving up the Logo Gear Sale this year such that items can be handed out to employees by the Employee Appreciation Breakfast (Pancake Breakfast) in November.
If you’d like to try on jackets, shirts, etc., in-person, our vendor will be available at the WCRC Salt Barn Open House/Tailgate on Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We still need employees to R.S.V.P. to the event if you are planning to attend.
