August 4: Back To School On My Mind

Good morning,

The back-to-school season is officially here…it seems crazy that we are already a week into August. Like every year, we know that back-to-school means more traffic on the roads, especially in the morning and afternoons.

In the spirit of the season, this month’s Stuck on Safety Newsletter focuses on Back-to-School Safety. The newsletter is full of great reminders as we start to switch our brains to fall-mode. Please check it out!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve made a lot of great progress on our projects. District 5 finished their stone hauls over the weekend and District 1 started their stone hauls this week. So far, the Heavy Equipment Crew has completed more than 30 miles of fog seal and they started fall culvert work this week. Pavement markings have also started, Traffic and Safety will be working with our contractor over the coming weeks to get this huge task finished for the year. Lastly, curb is being poured on our roundabout projects in Salem and Scio Townships, these projects are really shaping up nicely.

Phew! That’s a lot going on.

I hope you have a restful weekend.

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
