August 27: Facing the Flu Together

Good Afternoon,

We received encouraging news this week from the state. Overall, Michigan’s coronavirus infection rates and hospitalization rates are still trending lower than most states. While this is welcomed news, we need to remain vigilant. The virus is still a threat.

One of the major concerns on the horizon is the double threat of a bad cold/flu season and the lingering coronavirus pandemic. That’s why it is especially important to get your flu vaccine by the end of October. Getting the flu shot is the best way to protect you and your family this fall and winter.

Flu vaccines are now available at your local pharmacy or healthcare provider. For employees covered by either of WCRC’s Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans, vaccines are covered 100% in-network with no deductible or copay/coinsurance.

I hope you and your family take the few minutes this fall to get your flu shot. This simple step will help keep all of us safer.

Please have a safe and enjoyable weekend,

Sheryl
