Good afternoon,
As August draws to a close and the school year kicks off for many, I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank you for the wonderful work that has occurred this summer. We’ve wrapped up several important WCRC projects and are embarking on new ones with renewed enthusiasm. I’m thrilled to be working alongside such a dedicated team at WCRC.
During this week’s board working session meeting, we had the opportunity to meet Ryan Fantuzzi, our new labor attorney. Ryan shared a brief overview of his extensive experience with the board. We also heard from Brent Schlack, Director of Engineering/County Highway Engineer, who presented the draft Transportation Asset Management Plan. Adam Lape, Director of Operations, provided an update on our equipment and facilities plan. Additionally, the board discussed the potential sale of two pieces of WCRC property along M-52 in Sharon Township. At its regular meeting, the board approved the design services for the Hewitt Rd reconstruction project in Ypsilanti Township and accepted bids for reroofing and siding repairs of the material storage building at the Southeast Service Center.
If you plan to attend the WCRC Salt Barn/Tailgate event, please make sure to R.S.V.P. using this link or QR code by Thursday, September 5, so we can finalize food arrangements.
Lastly, I encourage you to nominate your fellow co-workers for the Recognize-Our-Workforce (ROW) Award for the third quarter of 2024. This is a great opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional work of your peers. Nominations are open until September 30 and can be submitted via the employee central website here.
Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work!
Matt
