April 15: Thinking About Moving Forward

April 15, 2020

Good Afternoon,

While we are still in the thick of this pandemic situation, it feels good to see our state and federal leaders starting conversations of what things will look like over the next few months as we begin to reopen the economy. We are having those conversations as well and will share information with you as plans develop. But after more than 4 weeks of difficult times, how nice to be thinking about moving forward again!

I would like to share another story from a co-worker, this one comes from Matt MacDonell, director of engineering. Unfortunately, Matt and his family were not able to go on their planned trip to Florida over Spring Break. Instead Matt, his wife Stacey and three sons got creative at home Thank You Card Craft DayThank you Cards to Healthcare Workers

“My wife came up with the idea of the five of us each planning a day for the family during spring break.  Each day the plan had to include a family activity, a physical activity and choice of dinner.

Activities included board games, NBA 2K tournaments, baking, basketball tournament, bike rides, whiffle ball game and a special family craft on my wife’s day. Stacey is a Registered Nurse who cares for COVID-19 patients at Beaumont’s Royal Oak hospital. So, on her day, she and the boys made heart thank you cards for the health care professionals at her work.”

What an amazing way to make up for a canceled trip and thank healthcare workers on the frontlines! I know many of us have spouses or other family members in the healthcare industry, we can’t thank them enough for their dedication and bravery during these trying times.

As always, take care and stay safe!
