April 1, 2020
Good Afternoon,
As a continuation of my message yesterday, while these are scary times, we are in this together. I know I have been trying new ways of communicating with you, my friends and family (like recording yesterday’s video). Some efforts have gone better than others. So, I’m curious what you and your family are doing to adapt. I’d love to hear stories or see photos of how you and your family are doing things differently to make the best out of this difficult situation.
For example:
- Are you a volunteer firefighter helping on the frontlines?
- Are you helping an elderly neighbor with groceries?
- Are you hosting regular video chats with extended family members?
- Are you collecting or making PPE to help our health care workers?
- Are you finding creative ways to entertain your kids?
Please email me a story or photo so I can share with everyone. I know we have amazing people at this organization, and I would love to learn from you and celebrate what you do.
On the topic of working differently, our board will be hosting its first virtual board meeting next week. The meeting will be on Tuesday, April 7, at 1 p.m. There are three ways to view the meeting live.
- From a computer with internet – Click here to join the meeting. After clicking the link, you will be prompted to download the Zoom software (if you don’t already have it). If you do not want to download the software, you can click the link at the bottom of the message to start the meeting from your browser.
- From a smart phone with mobile data or WIFI connection – Download the Zoom App (available for Apple or Android) and enter the meeting ID when prompted: 184 341 317
- From a touch tone phone: Dial (312) 626-6799 and enter meeting ID when prompted: 184 341 317
A recording of the meeting will be added to our website after the meeting if you are interested.
This crisis is certainly forcing us out of our comfort zones and making us try new things. Thank you for all that you are doing to cope and, again, know that we are in this together.
Hang in there and stay safe!
Sheryl
