April 1: More Signs of Spring

Good afternoon,

Just like last year, Mother Nature seems to have the best April Fool’s Day joke…snow ☹. Here’s hoping today is the last day with snow for a long time.

Although the weather this week hasn’t been ideal, it has been warm and dry enough that we feel it is appropriate to end our seasonal weight restrictions. Our “frost laws” will be lifted on Tuesday, April 5. Many of our neighbor counties are ending their restrictions next week too.

This week is also the last full week of our winter hours. Starting Thursday, April 7, the organization will switch to our summer hours. This is a sure sign that winter is over, and the construction season is here!

Lastly, I’m pleased to announce our Q1 winners for the Recognizing Our Workforce (ROW) Award – Trevor Feazel and Josh Summerhill. This award, brought to us by the Employee Think Tank, is a way for employees to recognize each other. Winners are randomly selected from the nominees. Congrats to Trevor and Josh and thank you to everyone who nominated a co-worker!

I hope you have a relaxing weekend!

Take care and stay safe,

Sheryl
