During the week of April 27, the contractor working on behalf of the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) worked on preparing the stone base for curb installation and began installing the curb at the intersection of Martz Road at Whittaker Road in Ypsilanti Township. During the week of May 4, crews completed the curb installation and began placing the decorative red concrete within the splitter islands (raised medians). During the week of May 11, the contractor is continuing work on the colored concrete within the splitter islands.
The intersection of Martz Rd and Whittaker Rd remains closed to all traffic. Please follow the posted detour. WCRC will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.
