Over the past several weeks, the contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has removed the asphalt pavement at the intersection of Martz Road at Whittaker Road in Ypsilanti Township and focused on shaping and establishing proper drainage.
The contractor has also started preparing the subgrade (bottom of the pavement structure) and adding the stone base layer. Once this has been completed, the crew will begin preparations for the installation of the concrete curb.
The intersection of Martz Rd and Whittaker Rd remains closed to all traffic, so please follow the posted detour. The WCRC will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.
