The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) plans to replace a culvert on Old US 12 Road between Liebeck Rd and Sylvan Rd in Sylvan Township.
Construction will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Based on the scope of the work involved, WCRC estimates it will take approximately two weeks to complete the $180,000 project, weather pending.
WCRC crews will close Old US 12 Rd between Liebeck Rd and Sylvan Rd. Motorists will not be able to cross the culvert location. However, WCRC will maintain access only for residents who live or work within the project limits during construction. The official detour will guide traffic only on paved roads.
The necessary utility relocations are complete. Construction crews will begin demolition and removal of the existing culvert, followed by the delivery and assembly of the new culvert.
WCRC will send out updates as the project progresses. All dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions and scheduling.
