US-12 and M-17: Spring Clean-up

Spring is here and that means work has resumed on the US-12 and M-17 Improvement Project in Ypsilanti Township.

Over the past few weeks, contractors have been working on landscaping and site restoration throughout the project. Sidewalk improvements will start this week. We are very pleased to share that new sidewalk will be placed along Ecorse Rd between Ford Rd and Greenlawn, closing a gap in the existing sidewalk.

In addition, fence work will begin in the coming weeks and contractors will also be installing wayfinding signs along the corridor. Final signal work is still planned but the exact schedule is uncertain at this time. This part of the project has run into supply chain challenges, the materials have been ordered and we are now awaiting shipment.

Traffic will be maintained in the project area throughout this spring work, although there will be intermittent lane and shoulder closures to accommodate certain tasks. Please slow down and stay alert while traveling through the work zone.
