The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will launch a road improvement project at the intersection of Wagner Road and Waters Road in 2027. Located in Lodi Township, the upcoming project features:
- A new traffic signal at the Wagner Road and Waters Road intersection
- Paving approximately 300 feet of the west leg of the Wagner Road and Waters Road intersection
- Updated pavement markings and signs.
Funding for the new traffic signal is made possible through a Federal Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) grant secured by WCRC. The signal is specifically designed to alleviate peak travel hour congestion and optimize traffic flow.
“We are thrilled to bring these safety and infrastructure upgrades to Wagner and Waters roads,” said Elena Yadykina, Project Manager-Traffic & Safety. “Securing the Federal Carbon Reduction Program grant allows us to proactively target traffic congestion while supporting environmental sustainability.”
The project is scheduled for the 2027 construction season. Motorists should anticipate road closures, temporary lane restrictions and flagging operations during active work hours and are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible.
