The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC), in cooperation with Pittsfield Township, is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the State Road Corridor between US-12 (Michigan Avenue) and Ellsworth Road.
An Environment Assessment (EA) is a process to identify, predict, evaluate, and mitigate potential impacts of a project. It involves collecting and analyzing data and examining several potential alternatives.
Following FHWA guidelines, potential impacts to the corridor will be examined with respect to Section 4(f), railroad coordination, noise impacts, roadway and pedestrian safety, etc. The results will help determine what preferred alternative should be selected for implementation.
The project is currently underway, and a draft Environmental Assessment report is anticipated in early 2026. A public meeting will be held in spring 2026.
Please note: There is currently no timeline for construction.
Updates will be posted to the official project page, and residents are encouraged to subscribe for email alerts to stay informed, at this link https://www.wcroads.org/residents/subscribe-to-road-updates/
