The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has received a federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant to conduct a Road Safety Audit (RSA) on Rawsonville Road in Ypsilanti Township. The audit will focus on the section of Rawsonville Road from Martz Road to 0.38 miles north of Textile Road.
An RSA is an independent, in‑depth review of an existing roadway conducted by a multidisciplinary team. The team will examine crash history, traffic patterns, and other key data to better understand current safety conditions for all users—drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders. The audit’s goal is to identify potential safety issues and outline conceptual designs for future improvements.
“Safety is at the core of everything we do,” said Elena Yadykina, Project Manager – Traffic & Safety. “This Road Safety Audit will help us better understand how people use Rawsonville Road today and identify opportunities to make it safer for everyone who travels it. Community input is essential, and we encourage residents to share their feedback as we move through this process.”
As part of the RSA process, public input is critical. Residents are encouraged to share concerns or suggestions for safety improvements along Rawsonville Road using the link below:
