June 6: Projects Update, Board Meeting & Political Signs in ROW

Good afternoon,

As we get further into this construction season, each week seems busier than the last! This week, our crews performed chip seal on a handful of roads out in Manchester Township. On Monday, utility relocations began for the roundabout project taking place at the intersection of Whittaker Rd & Willis Rd in Augusta Township. On Wednesday, the pedestrian bridge over the Huron River was placed for the Border-to-Border Trail along Huron River Dr just west of E Delhi Rd. Also, the Miller Rd & Zeeb Rd roundabout intersection opened to traffic yesterday. Thank you to everyone involved in accomplishing a number of projects early in the construction season!

During the board meeting this week, township agreements were approved for Scio, York, and Ypsilanti Townships. A Traffic Calming project agreement was approved for Stephens Dr in Superior Township, as well as an agreement for sidewalk improvements for the township.

Looking ahead towards the upcoming election season, I expect the political signs to spring up like dandelions in the grass. If a sign is located in the right-of-way and interfering with our ability to maintain the road, obstructing sight distance, or is a safety concern please contact your supervisor.

Have a good rest of the week and enjoy the weekend.

Thanks,

Matt
