BACKGROUND: On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin installing overhead signs approaching the Maple Rd (Foster) Bridge between Huron River Dr and Country Club Rd in Ann Arbor Township.
The completed installation will serve as a supplemental reminder of the bridge weight restriction (posting) and a vertical (height) hindrance to oversize vehicles. This is intended to further encourage alternate routes for overweight/oversize vehicles.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to intermittent lane restrictions. Motorists may want to consider seeking an alternate route to avoid delays.
The installation work is expected to take approximately three days to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
