WHY: Permit work: Utility work
BACKGROUND: On Thursday, January 15, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has extended the intermittent lane restrictions by seven months of Dexter-Chelsea Rd between Island Lake Rd and Dancer Rd in Lima Township for utility work.
The work began on September 15, 2025, and the work will now be completed in August. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to intermittent lane closures and lane restrictions. Motorists traveling through the work zone may wish to consider an alternate route.
