WHERE: Hankerd Rd between N. Territorial Rd and County Line in Dexter Township
WHY: Road resurfacing- asphalt prep work
BACKGROUND: On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, an asphalt paving contractor working on behalf of the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will be performing repairs (asphalt wedging) on Hankerd Rd between N. Territorial Rd and the county line in Dexter Township. This work is in preparation for further road surface improvements later this construction season.
The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to intermittent lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.
This phase of the Hankerd Road improvements is expected to take approximately one week to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
