July 23, 2026 Project Update #1: Park Rd Culvert Replacement (Scio Twp)

On July 21, 2026, The Washtenaw County Road commission began the culvert replacement project on Park Rd between Cottage Ln and Parkland Plaza in Scio Township. The WCRC crew excavated and removed the existing culvert and installed a new culvert under Park Rd.  

The project is complete; the road has been re-opened to traffic.  

WCRC is able to perform this project thanks to a Stormwater Grant and its partnership with the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office and the Township.

BACKGROUND: On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) reopened Park Rd between Cottage Ln and Parkland Plaza in Scio Township.

July 16, 2026 Road Closure: Park Rd (Scio Twp)

WHEN: Monday, July 20, 2026

WHERE: Park Rd between Cottage Ln and Parkland Plaza in Scio Township

WHY: Culvert replacement

BACKGROUND: On Monday, July 20, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Park Rd between Cottage Ln and Parkland Plaza in Scio Township for a culvert replacement.

The work is expected to take approximately four days to complete.  However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

The road will be closed to all through traffic. WCRC encourages drivers to use the detour.

March 26, 2026 Extended Intermittent Lane Restrictions: Park Rd (Scio Twp)

WHEN: Monday, March 23, 2026

WHERE: Park Rd between Cottage Ln and Parkland Plaza in Scio Township

WHY: Forestry work

BACKGROUND: The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) has extended intermittent lane restrictions on Park Rd between Cottage Ln and Parkland Plaza in Scio Township for forestry work by 7 days.

The work started on Monday, March 23, 2026, and will now take approximately 12 days to complete, subject to weather changes.

Although the road will remain open, delays are likely to be due to lane restrictions. Motorists should consider alternative routes.

WHY: Forestry

BACKGROUND: On Monday, March 23, 2026, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will be performing forestry work on Park Rd between Cottage Ln and Parkland Plaza in Scio Township.

The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to intermittent lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

The forestry work is expected to take approximately five days to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
