WCRC announces winner of roundabout PSA contest

By June 6, 2016Articles

The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) recently held a roundabout public service announcement (PSA) competition with students in Saline High School’s video production class.
The competition challenged students to develop effective, 30- or 60-second PSAs that addressed motorists’ “failure to yield” and explained how to enter roundabouts correctly.
A “failure to yield” occurs when a driver fails to give right of way to another motorist circulating in the roundabout. Motorists circulating in the roundabout always have the right of way. Drivers who want to enter the roundabout need to yield, and sometimes stop, to wait for a safe gap in circulating traffic.
Congratulations and thank you to the winners of our PSA contest, Laura Cerimele (11th grade) and Bailey Elekonich (12th grade).
