WHERE: Shield Road between Parker Road and Baker Road in Scio Township
WHY: Bridge Replacement Project
BACKGROUND: On Monday, June 12, 2017, a Contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will CLOSE Shield Road between Parker Road and Baker Road in Scio Township in order to replace the bridge over Mill Creek.
The road will be closed to all traffic during the bridge replacement project. The WCRC expects the work to be complete in October 2017. However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change.
The posted DETOUR for this closure is Parker Road to Dexter-Chelsea Road to Main Street to Baker Road. Local traffic to and from adjacent properties located within the closed section of Shield Road will be maintained, but no traffic will be able to cross the bridge itself.
