WHERE: Harris Road between Michigan Avenue and Holmes Road in Ypsilanti Township
WHY: Harris Road Reconstruction Project
BACKGROUND: On Monday, April 2, 2018, the Contractor for the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will CLOSE Harris Road between Michigan Avenue and Holmes Road in Ypsilanti Township for the Harris Road project. The two lane roadway will be reconstructed including bike lanes, concrete curb, driveways, sidewalk, street lights, rain gardens, storm sewer, and water main.
The WCRC expects the work to be completed by the end of July 2018. However, please be advised that due to weather conditions, all dates are tentative and subject to change. The road will be closed to all through-traffic during construction. This includes the closure of all intersections such as Forest Avenue.
The posted DETOURS for this project are as follows:
- Harris Rd: Use Burbank Rd to Cross St to Prospect Rd to Holmes Rd
- WB Forest Rd: Use NB Ford Blvd to WB Holmes Rd to SB Prospect Rd
- EB Forest Rd: Use NB Prospect to EB Holmes to SB Ford Blvd
- EB Cross St: Use Burbank Rd to Michigan Ave
