On Friday, May 1, 2020, WCRC and its contractor reopened Willis Road between Bunton Road and Rawsonville Road in Augusta Township after placing the first of two planned layers of asphalt in the road resurfacing project. The final layer of asphalt will be placed later this summer, once approach work at the railroad tracks has been completed.
The road will be temporarily closed again at that time in order to place the final layer and a road advisory will be issued ahead of this closure.

WHERE: Willis Road between Bunton Road and Rawsonville Road in Augusta Township
WHY: Road resurfacing
BACKGROUND: On Monday, April 27, 2020, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Willis Road between Bunton Road and Rawsonville Road in Augusta Township for a road resurfacing project.
The road improvements are expected to take approximately 10 days. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
Residents and property owners who live or work within the project limits will be provided access to their home or business but there may be delays. All other traffic must follow the posted detour or seek an alternate route.
